It's that time of year when everyone feels cooped up and getting antsy to get outside and see some sun. Unfortunately, we have a little while left until we will see those spring flowers blooming. Since we all can't get away and to go to Hawaii, here are some family fun-packed ideas that can help you feel like you are getting away without going too far.
Stay at a hotel nearby that has a pool and game room. You can sit by the pool and relax while you and your family enjoy all the amenities that hotels have to offer. Rent a movie and snuggle in the big comfy bed and order room service. One night of relaxation can be good for the whole family.
Build a campsite in your living room. Pitch a tent, light a fire in your fireplace and make s-mores. Shut off all the lights and tell some campfire stories. This will not only help you relieve that tension but it will aide in bonding with your children in a fun, close to home environment.
If by chance there is a beautiful sunny winter day and you are looking for a way to get out, there are many family friendly winter activities that are available to us nearby. Get the family out and snowshoe, snow tube, cross country ski, downhill ski, ice skate, or even just bundle up and all go out and build a snowman or have a family snowball fight! When the day is done come in from the cold and snuggle by the fire with a warm cup of cocoa.
So, in conclusion, wipe away those winter blues and escape without having to venture too far away from home.
